As a long-time digger, this happens to me all the time.
first you have to stop digging. then you have to notify the police. then you have to wait for them to show up.
when they do , they put these ‘crime scene’ yellow ribbons all around the site and won’t allow us to continue to dig
for a long time, maybe months.
I , for one, would prefer to dig where there are no bodies; they just slow things up
