pschearer, motivemagus: You are both right. I remembered Cecil writing about “Le theme est quete” years ago in the Straight Dope, and is or is not the theme of today’s (and the next couple days’) strips searching?

And it really doesn’t matter if they eat cake, it isn’t steak, and so it’s wrong….

They didn’t. Check out the sketch (by David) of the “Widow Capet” on her way to the guillotine. The big hair was all a wig.
