Hello, folks. I’m on a public internet connection right now.
Boy, birthdays suck.
Today, of all days, we finally ran out of time. They shut my electricity off at 9:45 this morning, and I have no idea when or if I will be able to turn it back on.
As a result, as I have no way of uploading (let alone producing) new strips, once the current backlog is burned through, this week might end up being the end of the strip. I hope it isn’t, but I’m not holding out much hope at the moment.
So where does this leave everything else?
Last week I finally managed to ship the backlog of orders for everything BUT “Meet The Royals.” I’m still about 30 pre-orders away from being able to afford the print run. If I get those orders in the next month, I’ll do the print run and ship the books. Otherwise, I’ll start doing refunds in October.
I doubt that book 5, “The Real Housewives of Windsor,” will happen for the same reason (low demand) and the fact that if I have to end the strip this month I’ll be about 10 pages short of having enough material to collect for a final book.
One last thing, please do not try to send any mail to the 2,000 Monkeys Post Office box; we had to close it last month due to lack of funds.
Again, I hope that this doesn’t end up being the end, but if it does I want to thank all of you for a hell of a run for 4-1/2 years.
bad way to have a birthday, pab. my sympathies. i’ll be hoping for the best for you. this strip has been one of my favourites ever since i discovered it a year and a half ago. i sincerely hope you can keep it going.

pab, that is really distressing news. I am so sorry - for all of us. I don’t think I’ve been reading even a year, but it has always been a delightful, clever strip.
Shift! I’m sorry to read your post Pab. I was so thrilled when my order of your previous books arrived. I started reading them and I didn’t notice that Meet the Royals wasn’t included. I have very much enjoyed your work and hope this is not the end.
