I fear a win by the wrong Republican, but I’d rather have to fight a theocratic White House than a socialist one. The anti-abortion rights, pro-censorship, anti-gay religious Right will make life hell for many but at least are less likely to destroy the entire world’s economy (including Great Britain and Canada).
BTW, the Ken Burn’s documentary “Prohibition” presents a scary tale of what happened when the religious Right joined forces with a reformist Left. This is why I’m worried about the Leftists who are turning religious and the Rightists who are buying into earth-worshipping environmentalism. Together they could summon the moral power to destroy industrial civilization. Then where could Pab run?
Pab- I never had problem with PayPal. I agree that our country is SO messed up, must post same as on Non Sequiter: I’m in my last pair or decades (74 now) so I won’t be around to see total devestation from current attitudes of both parties and the business ceos. I am just trying to economise enough so that I am not a drain on my 4 kids and don’t use up what’s left of IRAs before I go.
