This got me thinking: Some people are opposed to raising animals in captivity for purposes of food and/or clothing. What about people who have “pets” who are caged (literally in those cages!) at home for the 8-hour or more days when the owners are at work? Isn’t that keeping an animal in captivity? I know several people who see nothing wrong with this! Why bother to have a PET!?
