Why can’t we all just get along?

My cat rescue charity spays and neuters pet cats for people on welfare. Is that giving to animals or people? (And I have noticed that the people who are most outspoken on this issue rarely give to either!)

Ditto everybody except tcayer. I haven’t gotten completely away from giving material stuff at Christmas, but for the last coupla Christmases I’ve given donations to charities in lieu of half of the gifts. Surprisingly, the notion was well received even by my 11-year-old niece.

Great idea! Instead of buying lame gifts for my siblings (who already about all they need), I’ll give the money budgeted to a charity. Thanks!

Actually, between the anticipation (for most, including stores, Christmas ends on Dec 25) and the commercialization, we do fine: when everybody else is done celebrating, we are just starting. And we remember the origin of the holiday season.
