Toulouse would stop patting Koko if he felt a LUMP on Koko’s head; I found a lump on the right side of my dog’s ruff one evening when all I meant to do was enjoy the softness of her fur by petting her. The lump didn’t hurt her, and the vet found it too by feeling for it. Yes, it was invisible to the naked eye, but it was surgically removed with no complications or after effects.
We owned a beagle that was more catlike, having only an occasional interest in human contact not involving food or sleep… poor thing was on a drug that made her hungry. (No, not weed.)
