I feel that way when I take the dog out. “How was your walk?” Walk? It was more like take ten steps and stop to closely scrutinize a tree, a telephone pole, a trash can, a random bush, etc., etc.
Just imagine listening to a person speaking in a language that you don’t completely know, but may only understand about 10 words in it. I bet that’s what dogs hear when we speak, too!
