    Some dogs are dangerous to approach when tied up. They can be scared of strangers or feel threatened when their movements are so limited. It’s always best to be cautious, even when they seem pleased to meet you.

    While respecting the space of an unknown dog who is tied, if he gives me “The Big Wag”, I give him the big “Well, HEY there buddy!!!” If he gives me the play bow in return, then we make contact (folded hand, back of hand presented to sniffing distance.)
