Either our dog and cat have figured out they’re never going to catch a squirrel, or they are just too old to bother. In either case, the squirrels will ignore them completely – walk around them, and sit on their haunches and eat peanuts right under their noses.
No large squirrels here to chase. They are very small desert round tails. The only thing my dog would have wanted from your peanut eating squirrel is the peanut. LOL
Malingering? Hmm……My Chewy was suddenly exhausted. Too tired to move a muscle. “Right, we’ll go & see the vet” I thought. I carried the 40 kilo mutt into the car. where she lay motionless & fatigued, and opened her window completely. She saw a squirrel.I’ve never seen an animal FLY like that through a car window.

Two of my four dogs can go from barely moving to full tilt in under a second if a squirrel is involved.

You forgot to warm up those vocal cords, Koko. Can’t bark at squirrels with an un-tuned instrument!
