When I lived in Pasadena, I could walk with Vivekat to the corner, where she would hang out with another cat in a desert garden, while I went to the store. She would rejoin me on the way back. She was a very social cat. I would sometimes come home and find three or four cats visiting with her, even though she was spayed.
This one reminds me of some YouTube videos of dogs climbing right up the tree. Fortunately for the squirrels, they were much faster at it and could jump from tree to tree.
“Going to the stores” is British usage, and likely New Zealand, where Mr. Raeside’s from. Do they pluralize “store” in Canada? In the U. S. it’s simply “store.” Interesting clues as to what country we’re looking at here.

You might as well go, Koko. You’ll never get that squirrel.

Go ahead and mark the tree. Don’t waits for the squirrel to go away.

It sounds like he’s going to more than one store…you’d be nuts not to go with him, Koko!

I’m going to the bank, you know – the one that gives out dog treats?

Bring a .22 along. Eliminate squirrel delays.
