    It’s not just the production cost, it’s the R&D, both on the drugs that DO work, but also on the ones that DON’T work. Plus we have to be able to defend against lawsuits, and have an army of lawyers on staff.

    Humans are not nice people.I’ve actually met a few.They’re okay sometimes, but usually not.You have to get inside their circle of self interest.They are very good at developing their own interests.I think there was a book about a guy named Scrooge that went into the matter in greater depth.

    The cost of production is not the only factor. Cost to bring a new drug to market has exceeded $2.5 billion. So this must be paid back as well. And they have to earn back $ for those that do not make it to market as well. But there is lots of greed still there.

    Thank your local pharmacy’s greed as well. I have a prescription that without insurance at pharmacy is $16 per pill. At costco, without prescription same pill 75 cents.
