I’m waiting for the global warming to make the storms so severe and far-reaching that they make glaciers from incessant snows and fill the Sahara with green plants again. According to ocean sediments, it should take another ten thousand years, though AGW could make that as little at nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine years with a year off for good behavior. The only problem is that AGW might save a few acres of inland habitat and a few million extra humans might be alive at the end of it all. And you know how much I hate humans and inland habitats.
I’ll bet if we get the Earth a foil hat, we can cut the warming cycle back to nine thousand nine hundred and ninety years.
In the meantime, I’ll just sit here in denial and wait for the explanation of how we move more water out of the seas with less thermal energy and an Aquarian conveyor that breaks down before it hits shore because the atmosphere is too cold and shallow.
I can’t wait to hear it. Will it be aliens? Will it be Divine Intervention? Will it be magnets or magic? What will be the global climate Deus Ex Machina to save us from growing inland aridity and rising seas? I’ve got my willing suspension of disbelief all primed and ready to hear it.
