Turkeys can easily make 45 mph, and can speed up to 80 mph when they swoop. I had one pass me on the freeway once. So it actually takes only 23 days of flying time for a turkey to fly around the globe. However, they aren’t really motivated and like to stop a lot, so 11 year figure is totally realistic.
