Based upon all that I’ve read and your inane comments, first: President Obama did not “oops” kick it over. Second: let’s go. It actually sounds like the preferred solution.
Hardly Obama on this one…Boehner couldn’t even get enough of his own party to buy in. He actually had an interesting political strategy going, too, but for the sanctimonious adolescents in the GOP who only see as far as their next fundraising letter.
Obama signed this atrocious legislation based on active political extortion being meted out by the GOP. The Dems, while definitely sharing in the blame, were also largely dragged into this boondoggle by a GOP who refused to consider any coherent solution. When the GOP Presidential candidates said to a person that they wouldn’t come close to accepting $10 in spending cuts for $1 in revenue, the dysfunction was apparent.
