    Actually, I wore a special pregnancy corset for my second baby because I carried her so far our front that she was breaking my back. Of course, that was 40 years ago, so I don’t know if doctors now would suggest it, but that thing sure helped my back.

    I’ve heard other women say that corsets help their backs any time they must sit for a long time; not necessarily in a pregnancy context; but it makes sense that a specially designed and engineered one would help for that. I’ve a friend who makes them: she designs and sews custom Halloween costumes and SCA garb.
