When we were kids my brother and I were fishing off our boat. I got a strike and set the hook. Simultaneously my brother’s rod and reel went overboard. But, I proved to be the hero by retrieving his gear when I reeled mine in. I don’t think I ever let on that I suspected I was the one who yanked it overboard to begin with.

Actually had this happen once…on a deep sea fishing trip, I hooked a mackerel and it tangled the line of a fisherman on the other side of the boat.
