Velcro started out as a substitute zipper. Now… Strip-tease artists love it! BTW… did you know that little square Velcro dots are placed inside astronauts helmets… so they can scratch their noses!
And speaking of astronauts and space… Teflon started out as protection for space ship to survive reentry. Now… quite a bit of cook gear is Teflon! Talk about turning to art!!!
Art “connoisseurs” are a bunch of pretentious snobs. There was a news story not that long ago about a gallery showing at which one of the pieces of “art” was a banana duct-taped to the wall. It was valued at $150,000! Some art lover came along and ate the banana, causing a stir. But the gallery and the artist claimed the value was not in the banana, which would soon rot anyway, but in the IDEA of the banana. Oh, and the certificate of authenticity. Because any idiot could come along and duct tape a banana to the wall, so it had to be “authenticated” I guess?
I saw pictures of Sundance Glass in Paradise, CA after it was destroyed by fire along with much of Paradise. There were stacks of glass all melted together in piles. Today’s strip reminds me of that.

The Wizard must be the ancestor of Dale Chihuly! Really, Chihuly has made amazing glass sculptures.

In some high-end art gallery in NYC, his work would be considered artistic genius!

Never underestimate the power of imagination and ingenuity. Sometimes tin foil really is the best hat option.

Harkens back to the most traditional sense of a fiasco.
