She’s right about the draft, at least to the extent of early rising. I don’t agree with the ‘motivated for the day to come’ whether in basic training or as permanent party.
I would like to have the income coming in that I would have if I had successfully been a lifer in the Army (if I had retired after 20 or more years), but I’m afraid I would have ended up discharged as a drunkard (due to being in the Army) after five or 10 years.
Some people like the military life. It was not for me.
