I was supremely lucky to get an absolutely wonderful HR officer handling my application for a job in a university IT department. She put me forward as the best applicant which helped me get my dream job. She left the university not long after and since then every HR officer there has been borderline incompetent and some downright obstructive.

As an IT guy in HR, I COULD take umbrage, as Hawkeye once said – except I KNOW where you’re coming from (and you’re right)!
