I temped for a long time in a company that had four huge buildings connected by causeways. You had to go upstairs and down again to cross between. It was like passing through alternate universes- all strikingly similar, yet each unto itself. That’s also where I saw the woman I based my version of Rita on- periwinkle suit, water bottle and all. But she had the ponytail that Rita used to have before the helmet ’do.
