Tatooine actually was Earth – the Tanzania desert, I believe. The funny thing about planets in science fiction is that they imply the whole fictional planet is made up of one terrain type, which is really just one of the many terrain types we see all over the Earth.
There have been 6 or 7 mass extinctions over earth’s history, something new has always come back afterward. Consider the possibility that humans are not special, that LIFE itself is the goal. . . . .

Well, Earth is a big place. Unlike Star Wars planets, it doesn’t have the same environment everywhere.
