    When I was working it seemed to me that Middle Management focused more on stifling creativity than encouraging it.

    Upper management just filled an office chair, nothing else. Middle management had to get results or else everyone was on the unemployment line. The higher up in management you go, the less you do and the more you make. No company can survive without the bottom of the ladder grunt workers.

    The most important thing one can do is correctly fill out the internal billing account numbers on your timesheet. Losing a day a week to feed the bean counters was more important than actual accomplishments like adapted portable cold fusion power supply to my graphing calculator.
