Included in the $980 – dummy tax for not looking at the obvious thing. Often connected to the “it wasn’t plugged in” diagnosis.

At least he re-booted it before calling….

Although, to be honest, kicking it again isn’t TECHNICALLY rebooting.

Old computer joke: The main frame had stopped. They called the tech in. He walked to the end and then went to his bad to get a small hammer. He took five steps down the frame and tapped on it with the hammer which started the computer. He sent his bill for $1000. When asked for an itemization, he said this, “Hitting the computer with a hammer was $1. Knowing where to hit the computer, $999”.

He should come up with a fancy technical term for filling the paper – that way he’d get repeat business from the clueless boss.

I had a little, old lady client who took five minutes just to walk to the door. I quickly discovered that her only problem was that her visiting son had left his log in up on the screen instead of hers. Even though I drove 20 miles, I didn’t have the heart to charge her.
