People need to appreciate the energy stored in lithium batteries. A 1.5v standard battery will drop in voltage if there is a short circuit, so we are used to thinking that 1.5V is nothing. But the energy in a lithium battery will maintain it’s voltage, so even a 1.2V lithium battery, if shorted, will start a fire.
