Six hours? They must have scored some points with the spectators (audience) – at least more points than any team usually scores in an actual soccer game.
From my perspective, listening to improv jazz is far more preferable to watching soccer. I like good improv jazz and could spend some time doing that over quite a few other things.
As far as soccer, I would rather watch paint dry than be stuck watching soccer. I would rather watch just about anything over soccer. For me, watching soccer, is just one type of slow death, and not a particularly painless one at that. If there is soccer on, my TV is not.
