The advice that saved his career as an artist.

There were many paintings of water lilies, as there were of many of Monet’s favorite subjects. Commonly and collectively known as the “series paintings.” I was lucky enough to have seen a major exhibition of Monet’s series paintings at the MFA in Boston roughly thirty years ago. He painted them in; a) different times of day, b) different seasons, c) different weather, & d) different light.

Monet’s dark period did not “sell” well.

Why not hold the umbrella over the painting?

His lovely wife was a wildcat in bed. Every morning he’d wake up Claude.

Maybe he could, but it wouldn’t be the same.

I LIKE those colors.

….it must have been a dark and stormy night…lol

Picasso had his Blue Period, Monet had his Brown.

Considering that Monet was an impressionist, would he be painting water lilies that way?
