My niece was known for wearing her mother’s clothes without permission. Her mom came home one day with a beautiful angora sweater, put it on a high shelf in her closet and gave her daughter an ultimatum that to touch it could lead to a death sentence.
Of course, she couldn’t resist borrowing it to go to a party and subsequently spilled something on it. Not knowing proper care of angora, she put it through the laundry and shrunk it to the size of a postage stamp.
Hiding it back in the closet, she lived in fear of when her Mom would discover it. As it happened, it was some years before Mom decided to wear it and discovered the deed. On considering the long time her daughter had suffered, ruing the day of discovery, she didn’t punish her for it.
