My wife asked where to go after the movie. Then she looked up from her phone and said were going to the Mexican restaurant in town. I woke up several times in the middle of the night, very uncomfortable. Ate too much refried beans on my tacos.
When I asked the question and got a non answer, I made just enough of what I wanted to eat. If he was hungry, he had to make food for himself. He knew that. And when he asked me, I was always willing to tell him what I would like. Sometimes I didn’t get what I would like, but, what he could scrounge up in the kitchen.
Enabling the annoyance, Huda. You don’t have to be stuck with this. You could decide that on one or two particular days each week supper will be x (determined in advance—e.g. Wednesday is spaghetti day) unless otherwise specified.
After much the same anger, rephrasing saves lives in our house…It is usually " Whattaya don’t wanna eat for diner?", leaves much more room for making stuff you wanna eat and they can’t object to.

That is annoying and unhelpful. He deserves whatever he gets.

The problem with always biting your tongue is the buildup of scar tissue.
