Yikes. That Nova Scotia story is scary. I thought coyotes only went after animals. I heard about a pack of starving coyotes who attacked a horseback rider in Malibu, CA once — but even then they were just wanting the horse. I wonder if that hiker had a backpack with food that attracted the coyotes to her.
