So that drops the percentage to 62% (in the US). Then you have to do the age calculation – 18-29 year olds have the highest rate of online usage, but while those 65 and older are increasing their online presence, only 43% of Americans over 65 are online. Assuming that 73% of those are using social media, that means less than a third of Americans over 65 are using social media.
