I’m a birder, and what is shown in the strip is exactly true, except for one difference: in real life, the bird is some sort of stray or otherwise rare bird, and it would be outside, usually at a feeder. There was a painted bunting in our area this past winter, and the crowds of people standing beside the house and peering into the backyard were so big, that they wore a path from the sidewalk to the gate beside the house. Sometimes there were so many people that those at the back could not see the bird! They had to wait for some people to leave so they could move up to where they could see the bird from.
