“Bell” of the ball.

I miss that sound from our cat.

How many readers’ hands went to their throats to see if that might be their problem? (Besides me I mean…)

We used to have a bell on our cat. After wearing jingle bell earrings for only a brief period one day during the Christmas season (never to be worn again), I understood how annoying it was, and removed the bell from his collar. He became much more active, probably because he didn’t have that constant tinkling in his ears anymore!

On the other hand, when my daughter was a toddler, she LOVED jingle bells on her shoes, and would laugh and run and stomp around as much as possible while wearing them. I miss that!

Some brave mouse stepped up and belled the cat.

Oh dear! Sounds like a serious case of tintinnabulitis!

Belling cats doesn’t make much sense. Birds don’t know what the bell means. Mostly, it makes your cat an easy target for any territorial cats in the neighborhood.

I have no idea why anyone would put a bell on a cat other than to drive it and everyone around it crazy.

If it was an outside cat it would starve or make for a really poor mouser.

Cat, don’t be such a ding-dong.
