As an engineer, I always laugh when I see this cartoon. This isn’t necessarily typical, but it does hit home that when something happens that you don’t understand you try to look it up in the manual and figure out what it was supposed to do rather than what it actually did. Problem, is if it is a operations manual, it will be poorly written, missing a lot of information, and if you check out the troubleshooting guide, everything boils down to “Turn Power Off and Restart System”.
