Clayton: Hey, Pop. What are you doing? Adam: I'm on a genealogy site, looking at our family tree. Katy: Cool! Do we have any famous relatives? Adam: Well, your great, great Uncle Josiah Lightfoot Newman fought in World War II. Legend says he once lit Winston Churchill's cigar. Clayton: That's it? Lighting a cigar? That's not a lot to brag about. Adam: There's also your distant cousin. Ambrose Chapel Newman. He almost medaled in Olympic archery. And not to mention the long line of Newman mail carriers in the northeast. Clayton: So us Newmans are good at aiming, on-time deliver and lighting things? Adam: I guess we are. Clayton: So, how can you, in good faith, deny my birthright by refusing to buy me bottle rockets?
Clayton’s really reaching there, to suit his own purpose.
I’m surprised there was no Adam Mother’s Day strip today.
