It rained in Baltimore last night, so it is only 76 right now. (Thank you, Lord!) It was 102 at 7:30 last night. And even that was down a bit from mid-day.

When I was a kid, it was regularily 25-35 degrees in the summer. We NEVER had Central Air (We lived in “the projects”) and we played outside from around 8:30am-12:30pm, had lunch, and went back out at 1pm and didn’t return till 5pm for supper, and out again till usually around 8pm when we came home, had a fast bath, and went to bed.We were out of door about half the day, getting filthy, sweaty, and gross! Kids these days are too pampered and bubble wrapped.

I stopped looking at the thermometer here in Afghanistan. It got hot at the end of April and hasn’t stopped. looking forward to good old lake effect snow from Lake Erie when I get home.

It’s currently 82 degrees where I live, but I’m not going outside since it can get REALLY hot here in Happy Valley, Utah.

Celsius is a helluva lot better than that “Fahrenheit” … and Kilometers/Meters/Centimeters are a helluva lot better than “Yard/Foot/Inch” … ..However, yes, there are ‘projects’ – well, locations where 90%+ of the population are recipients of Welfare.
