I suspect that Matchbox cars are not meant to be washed with water like that. Axels in particular are probably plain steel pins and will rust. Not good for their long-term value.
My father took all my model cars off of me because he said I wasn’t lookig after them. I always put them back in the boxes after I played with them. A few yeras later I found them in broken boxes in a damp shed. Thanks, Dad…. They woud have been collectors items if I’d kept them.
