I realized as a child that my parents had no idea what they were doing. I assumed it was just them. I became an adult and learned no one has any idea what they are doing. Everybody is faking it. Some people are humble while they fake it. And some people are arrogant while they fake it.
I guess it depends on who you hang around with, who you notice in life. I find 99% of people of all ages very nice, very clever, very productive, very interesting.
I think it was Mark Twain who said he ran away from home when he was sixteen because he father was so dumb. When he returned home at twenty years of age, he was astounded at how much his father had learned in those four years. :)

Adult to child: “Son/daughter, an adult is like a child, but bigger, badder, and dumber.”
