Nothing like going in blind. That has happened to me twice in two different jobs. First one, the girl transfered to work in the hospital I was never trained, the third was so crazy, she hardly showed up to train me. Working for the Chairman of surgery and a vascular surgeon was a very demanding job. But thank God I had some common sense.
Just like our fuel procurement….It’s a PowerPoint set up but doesn’t really fit how an field office orders and pays for fuel. The instructions only apply to the Fleet services at headquarters. I miss the old way which was call the fuel company, order fuel, pay by a handwritten purchase order, send to Finance, all done.
Like the Vogons response to Arthur?“But the plans were on display…” “On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.” “That’s the display department.”“With a flashlight.”“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”“So had the stairs.”“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.”

Binder. Reminds me of how my parents explained to me about sex. Mom handed me a pamphlet she’s bought through Catholic Digest.
