There was a girl about 10 or 11 who cane into my dad’s store a lot. She was probably on the spectrum although the diagnosis hadn’t been invented then. She loved that gag and repeated it over and over for two or three trips. She was very gregarious and talked your ear off. Even though I understood that her brain wiring was different from mine I did get annoyed sometimes.

I remember some of my teachers back in school who used to do the same …… they’re dead now (and I’m grateful … that they are dead)

I find that a cheery and polite “Hello, how are you?” will usually get a smile and a cheery response back from the cashier.

As I was going off to work, my mom would say “Work hard, have fun!” I would respond, “I can’t do both!”

It’s really irritating when it’s your boss who asks that. My response to the question? “Working hard, just making it look easy…”

I find it very nice that Tabby enjoys Mr. Mackles…. even if not his humor.
