Not the worst financial advice Iâve ever heard. Pretty good actually, as far as advice goes. She could have said, âA fool and her money are soon partedâ, or âBuy low, sell highâ. Probably the worst advice under these conditions might be, âMeasure twice, cut onceâ, as it relates to wasting money.
That was better than a semester of law and economics. Nothing like real life experience for learning; and it only cost a dime.Yesterday my girlfriend and I found a dime during a 6 mile hike. We are in our 60s; but our first thought that came to mind was, letâs go buy some candy. You could by a lot with a dime 50 years ago.
Timeâs change. Today you canât get anything for a dime except some great advice from Agnes. A dime doesnât even pay the sales tax most of the time.
âWhen I was in Elementary school a dime would get you a comic book,:.My first encounter with taxation was when my mother gave me a dime to buy a comic book with, and it now cost eleven cents with the sales tax.As a proper Democrat, I still love taxes but it was a shock at the time.

I believe âdi meâ means âtell me.â And âda meâ means âgive me.â

UmâŠ. it becomes one wordâŠ.. âdameâ with elders and such, âdĂ©meâ with most people these days⊠to some, still used only for close friends, children, and the dogâŠ.
âFavor dĂ©me un peso, amiga, porque no tenemos los âdimesâ aqui..â

A lot of older people here, remembering how much a dime used to buy. Remember, also, collecting returnable soda bottles to get a dime or two? I do.
