As for Uncle Stinky…Trout has so many “uncles” some do get lost in the shuffle.

Oh… and thanks so much to everybody who said nice things about yesterday’s late post.

Hubby’s been searching his family tree and has gotten back as far as the 1300, but once they arrived in the Colonies they intermarried like mad. It’s more of a wreath than a tree.

I was a hippie, only I didn’t think so… now I claIm it; then, it meant something different.

At 16, instead of going to study hall like I said, I sneaked away after school to hang out in the U of Wis student union Rathskellar, reciting Keats and Shelley, and discussing existentialism, with 19-year old wanna-be beatniks….In college I carried a green bookbag, which for some reason was “Bohemian”.

I was still in college when the term hippies came along… But I was an activist, and later had a shop selling tie dye and vintage clothes. I thought hippie meant you sat around all day smoking dope and burning incense…I was counter cultural, not a hippie.. I worked all the time, no time or money for concerts or drugs.. or inclination.

Now I think my long hair, music, various occupations and lifestyle, along with my clothes and attitudes, all quite clearly spell h-i-p-p-i-e. And pretty much still do!

I knew it! Your name “Susan Sunshine” has the flavor of the Mothers of Invention.

Landsky… LOL… I’m always afraid people will think it’s some hippie name I made up…

But no, I was never that flaky.

It’s just a sort of misspelling of my real name, originally a mistake made by other people… eventually I gave up on hating it, and used it myself when it made things easier…. or if I wanted a bit more anonymity, like online.
