The Library was such a special place when I was a kid. Going there felt like I was almost going to a foreign country. We had easy access to reading materials and artwork that we’d probably have never seen if we did not go to the summer reading sessions. Now that I think on it, that could have been the beginning of my love for armchair traveling.
Our grandkids would have rather gone to the library than a candy shop. We’d get in the car and they’d start to sing:“We’re going to the library, the library, the library,To get a book to read.”
