There is only one God and I can prove that scientifically, if you can believe that.

OK, I’ll open the can of worms. Frankly, I’ve never understood why people have to say there’s a conflict. For my money, they’re both different aspects of the same reality.

Science deals with reality, and what can be discovered through careful observation.

Religions are the realm of fantasy-fiction.

Religions are the realm of FAITH. If we are wrong, then we waste only 80 or so years, if you are wrong then you waste eternity. I have faith that my life is not wasted, do you?

I’m not wasting one minute of my 80 years worrying about Heaven or Hell. It’s just a big lie.

Science is about How; religion is about Why.

Science can only deal with what is known. In this universe there is much more unknown than known. That’s why there is faith.

Science killed religious stupidity in 1859 when Darwin published On the Origin of Species.

Faith is the process of believing in ridiculous childish nonsense that make cowards feel good.

There really isn’t any conflict between religion and science. The course of creation as explained in Genesis 1 is exactly what scientists have claimed. First, the gaseous clouds of the universe, with form and vid. Then, the waters and the dry land, fish in the sea, animals and plants on the earth, and finally human. They follow parallel paths.

As for doing it all in six days – what point was there to saying “a billion years” to a civilization that could not conceive of any number beyond 10,000? For that matter, if God wants to call a billion years a day, it’s way out of my pay grade to tell Him He’s wrong.

Yeah, I have seen a post by someone right here on the comments section of one of these strips.Who basically said that it was a contradiction that at one point, the Bible says that trees were created before humans, and at another point, the Bible says that humans were created before trees were planted in the Garden of Eden.…and that it is a contradiction that, at one point, the Bible says that Adam was created before Eve, and at another point, it says that both man and woman were created by God.Your other points are irrelevant. After all, Genesis was written by a primitive shepherd, and was used to teach former slaves, not by ancient Hindus for a relatively advanced civilization… and I am willing to bet that even ancient Hindus would have a hard time conceiving the concept of billions of years.

@DavidHuieGreen“If you want to play that game then no religion should be ignored in order to “play the odds”. ".My dear friend, I wasn’t playing any game, simply commenting on the concept put forward by others. It isn’t really faith or even belief if you do something simply because the cost of doing it is very low and the possible payout is very high.

@Night-Gaunt49“Easier to show there are none. ".Interesting if you can do it..Some proposed gods in the past were simply related to a particular volcano or other object, emotion, phenomenon.Without knowing all the assorted religions and what they called “god” and without being able to measure every aspect of every portion of the universe, I am interested in seeing how you could show none of them exist..(A member of AA said “god” could even mean a “Group Of Drunks,” and I KNOW that kind exists.)
