Agnes’ use of “brain” as a verb in panel three can be explained by the fact that she spends little time in the classroom, as she’s always visiting the principal. Not sure what Trout’s excuse is for her lack of vocabulary skills.
As for Trout’s reference to her brain in panel three, it does make me wonder what her mother has told her (or what she’s picked up from mom’s activities) regarding wedding days — and nights.
