This is unusual—generally it’s Agnes asking Trout to join in some scheme. Not the other way around.

I worked a refueling outage at the Crystal River Unit 3 nuclear plant. They put up temporary offices for us in a low lying part of the grounds nicknamed “The Swamp” and laid pallets as a walkway and placed a few porta-potties there as well. I worked the night shift and carried a flashlight because the area was poorly lit. I could see snakes poking their heads up between the pallet slats and decided I wouldn’t be using any of the unlit porta-potties.

The outdoor experience is supposed to build character according to Calvin’s father.

Our Girl Scout troop had use of cabins, we never got the tent experience….city kids, in the’50’s.

Sleeping outside. I worked so that I didn’t have to do that. :)

I’m absolutely with Agnes on this one. I remember tents and latrine holes. Camping was NOT fun in the ‘Buckskin Girls’ back in the 60’s.

I stole my moms bathroom key at girl scout camp so I could have a decent place to go to the bathroom.

I don’t do the “great outdoors” unless there is a cabin with indoor plumbing involved. Also, a nice fireplace is good. When me and my ex husband had our honeymoon we went to a popular state park for a week, couldn’t afford an expensive honeymoon, and it was was I described that I need and even though it was the end of June we used the fireplace everyday because it was so nice. The place also had a mini amusement park, a nice swimming pool for cabin renters, canoeing and paddleboating, we did the paddleboats so it turned out to be a real nice place to go.
