There is a trend in the guitar world; they say they “relic” it; they take a perfectly good new guitar and try to make it look like an old guitar (a practice that grew out of the market in counterfeit 1950s Les Pauls). Then they charge you more – and fools pay more – for a pre-damaged instrument.
raise your hand if you remember the long-ago “antiquing” craze. dear ol’ mom was really into painting the furniture and then making it look “antique”… ☺
