My wife used a lot of makeup. That stuff contains a lot of clay, which settles in the trap of the bathroom sink. And can only be removed by taking apart the trap. Ladies, what we do for you!

Dan: Get a bag of “Bristle Pipe Cleaners” from Amazon or your local pipe shop. Shove one down the drain, twist in one direction, pull out a glop of hair and soap. Throw the whole mess in the trash. Easiest drain cleaner I’ve found, and it’s septic safe.

Hair is not a problem for me. I get my head shaved. I save money on shampoo.

If it’s permissible to tout a product here, I’d tout this one. My husband and I both have long hair, and it has made keeping our shower drains clean so easy. Not 100% foolproof, but it really helps immensely. Our tubs all have pop up drains, which are especially difficult to cover to keep the hair out, but this device does the trick.
