I hate to be a curmudgeon but as a retired football ( soccer ) referee, I can tell you that neither Andy nor Chalkie would be allowed to wear a cap on the field. Smythe took the flack on this in the beginning, claiming cartoonist license.
Morning to all at Club Capp. Only the finest amenities here. For your thirst quenching pleasure we have beer, beer and more beer. Oh did I mention beer? That is if we can find where Mr. Capp hid the key to the taproom.
@BuggerlugsKeep the Pogos coming, please! (By the way, about vaudeville: “The problem with the internet is that it is almost exactly like vaudeville—but without the class”——-Professor Feather T. Barnswallow)
In real life nobody likes a drunken, wife beating, layabout, but in a cartoon, it seems to be acceptable behavior. I must admit, however, that I do not enjoy or approve of the ones where Andy is belting Flo.
Busy day…. but I had to stop by here to thank Beviek for all her kind words…up to which I’ll never live…
LOL.
And yes, Gweedo… I’m a bit geeky.I’ve been “modifying” pictures, with varying levels of success, since long before I ever set….um… (virtual) foot? …. mouse paw?on a comics website.I don’t own any fancy software… so far I just work in Paint, which is part of Windows.
And the little HTML I know is mostly from online tutorials.Other posters like x_Tech, CoBass, the Old Wolf and LfInLarry did help me learn more about image posting, and about picture hosting sites…. though I now use a different one from most here.
CoBass and I were among a few who figured out live links on the old Comics.com, where they were soon banned.Images, including avatars, were not allowed at all.I’m glad we get to use them all here!
And yes, I do try to answer questions, help out, or pontificate annoyingly (depending on your opinion of it) about computer stuff …but you and I don’t visit many of the same forums.
Occasionally I even join the discussion on x_Tech’s help page too.
Oh…. and yes, Affi…. As Gwen said, you’re tracked everywhere you go on the web by various companies, which also collect info like where you live, so they can feed you ads… the advertisers pay those companies.
By allowing their banners and ads on GoComics, parent company Universal UClick makes a penny or two whenever you click on one.
You can eliminate some of them just by using ad blockers….or lose ALL of them for less than a US dollar a month by going Pro… to me its well worth it.
This is one of your best Mikey!^^TY… you’ll notice that I’m also making a tribute to the original artists, rather than those drawing these strips today (Which makes this one a lot easier, as Shuster’s S-man was a little less detailed than the overtly muscular modern version!)

Another Andy as drawn by a different cartoonist, I really like the way this one came out:

5 seconds later, the opposing team takes the ball and scores the winning goal; Andy hears all the commotion but, is too busy guzzling his beer to care

Andy, I can relate. Spent many years playing softball where the beer cooler was as important as the equipment bag…<p.

LOL LOL… Would he do the same if Flo’s purse was there?
Daft question.

@MikeyHow many bounds would it take for Super Andy to leap a brewery? I’ll bet it would be several.

There seems to be a fair few oddities commenting these days. I’ve had cause to deal with one elsewhere, only today.
