Leave it to *Andy’s*_ trouble and strife_ to want him to gander an old nick.
It’s more likely that he’d have half inched a Dudley Moore from the ball and chain’s purse and slipped out, then drop into the rubber for a pint of smile and a gold watch…
I know Andy isn’t Cockney but the sight of the ball and chain got me to thinking…..
I haven’t been able to get on every day the past couple weeks since student teaching and college classes started back, but I haven’t seen the trolls around much lately. As for the strip, I wonder if Andy still remembers all the cells he’s spent the night in in that jail. The strip’s old enough that he could have spent his early days in that jail.
Stutterin’ Frank was a man of many talents, painter, illustrator, sculptor, raconteur, cowboy ( he could still compete calf roping we into his 70’s BUT I know for a fact, as his wife, Mary would have attested to, Frank was definitely no singer !
He wouldn’t have qualified as one of those Hollywood singing cowboys like Roy Rogers or Gene Autry.
I don’t think Frank could have carried a tune in a paper sack !
But…like Andy, after a few “adult beverages” he thought he was Frankie Lane.
@Beviek, your slogan about moving forward or remaining in safety..seems to me more often it’s between a rock and a harder spot = frying pan into the fire

I’ve been reading this strip since the mid 60’s – I don’t know why, but I just really enjoy these characters.

If Andy had lived in medieval times, specifically in the kingdom of Id, he would’ve been a cross between Bung and the Spook…….

Somehow, I doubt it’s my old buddy.
